Happy 2011 everyone!
Well the New Year has found us excited at what 2011 will bring. We celebrated the holidays here in Phoenix, AZ with our local family. Christmas is always a hit with the kids as they are very blessed at what Santa (and mom and dad, grandparents and family friends) brings :-).
David is manager of a Genesco/Lids retail store in Phoenix, AZ. He has just come up on 2 years with the company. I am incredibly proud of him and his ability (with the Grace of God) to keep his store running excellent in sales, and weekly ranking in the top few stores in its district. He is also active in Music Production. Time hasn't allowed for much recording lately, but he will begin a 2nd Cd with one of our favorite clients, Israel Smith. Israel is a very talented, very humble gentleman who has a heart of gold. We have become quite fond of him and his sister Angela and love hanging out with them. Outside of working and time with the family, David has continued to master his skill in baking. Just last night he made a white-chocolate cheesecake with blueberry sauce for a friend’s birthday. Yum Yum is all I can say about that!
The kids are growing so fast. Isabella is now 6 and smart, smart, smart. Homeschooling her has its challenges as she whips right through her assignments and is always ready for more. She is soon starting soccer and is very excited to try something new. She also loves singing and dancing. With the creativity she has, the world is a canvas for her. It will be wonderful to see the career path she chooses. We continue to pray that God will show us how to effectively train her up in her gifting so she can be all that He has for her.
Isaiah is such a tender soul. He is my charmer and my funny boy. Loves to make us laugh. He is 2 1/2 and hopefully on the tail end of the "dramatic" moments. (I like to say dramatic in lieu of whining). He is so sensitive which I know is a great strength that is still finding its maturity. He loves his mama and daddy and at any given opportunity is a snuggling bear. His vocabulary is increasing daily. He has story after story. Mostly about his favorite movie Star wars or Alvin and the Chipmunks or his favorite toy, his cars.
Isaac is already 13 months and almost the size of his older brother. Isaac loves to clap and we have found that he loves music. He is such a happy boy. He follows his big brother and sister around all day long. He mimics their every move. He is still learning the word "share" so it’s been a bit of a learning situation with toys Isaiah is playing with. All three of my sweet kids bring David and me much joy.
Next week marks 7 years of marriage with David (on Valentine’s Day). It’s hard to believe we have been in North Phoenix 6 years, married 7 years, and have 3 kids. But we are so very thankful and consider ourselves very blessed. I find that I miss my family in California more than words can say, but am very hopeful one day we will find ourselves back in California. I miss the ability to run in the grass with no shoes, I miss the beautiful trees, old friends and the smell of the coast. Oh and did I mention running outside with no shoes. (There are no Scorpions in Cali) For now I am looking forward to my sister Hilda's wedding in April in San Diego, Ca. It will be so much fun catching up w/my brothers, my dad and the rest of the family. We will be taking a week vacation and staying in a beautiful resort.
I think that about says it all for now. I pray this blog finds you in great health and in the peace of God. As always, we would love to hear how you and yours are doing. Till' the next post- God bless you!
