July 2011

Dear family/friends-

Sorry that it has been 5 months since my last post. I wouldn't even know where to start to catch you up since my last one in February. So I will just begin with where we are today. The Means clan is doing great. The kids are of course getting bigger. Beautiful Bella has lost more teeth, her hair is growing like a weed and she is standing not too much shorter than dear ol' mom. She loves playing pretend with my shoes. It is scary that she almost fits in them! Isaiah is going to be 3 next month and I don't know where the time has gone. Seems like yesterday I brought him home from the hospital. We are working on his potty training..not so good so far. He is pretty fond of his diapers, but this mama is tired of changing 2 boys. It’s like an hourly event. Lol. Right now he loves anything Toy Story and Cars and is showing an interest in sports. He has a collection of little football helmets with the Cowboys as his favorite team (sorry grandpa Chris!). Isaac is 18 months and is so true to his name. He is entertaining and is such a happy boy. He also shares the same love of music as his brother and sister and his daddy! You will find him dancing and clapping and getting excited when he hears just about any music. I am truly blessed by all three kids, they teach me so much about life, about myself and keep me on my toes being a stay at home parent. Homeschooling is my next challenge and reward. I have embraced it and look forward to my time raising my children with the grace of the Lord guiding me and teaching me.

David recently received his license in Food Safety Management and is taking a step of faith in pastry baking. No he isn't giving up Music but for now he is just expanding his artistic craft and love of baking. He hopes to start taking classes to expand his knowledge. He is still managing in retail and although we are so very thankful for the job.,the hours, the time away from home and different demands of the job have called for a change. Nothing just yet, but the entrepreneur in him continues to cry out.

As for me, I’m still working hard with my exercise boot camp classes 3 days a week. I have also found a new interest in Nutrition. The more I research, the more I am intrigued at learning healthier options for me and my family. I think a touch of farming (don’t get too excited- I’m talking a backyard garden) is in order.  As much as I’d love it, I don’t think this city gal is ready for goats & chickens just yet.

Lastly, we have some changes coming. A move is finally in our near future. We are seeking the Lord with regards to where we go next but hoping it will be somewhere where the weather has some grace on us in the summer and you can see the leaves change in the fall.

We will keep you posted on when that day finally arrives and where our next chapter begins. For now, we appreciate family that is praying for us and encouraging us in this season of our life. We hope to hear from you and yours soon. God bless you!
